Getting started on a new roof is easy. We will work closely with you to ensure all your needs are met and all of your concerns are addressed before we begin the work. If your roof replacement is part of an insurance claim, we will work with your insurance company to ensure your home is restored to pre-loss condition and meets all standard building practices and is code compliant.

Here is a general rundown of our roof replacement process:

A Martin Exteriors professional will conduct a free inspection of your roof to determine exactly what needs to be done. We will look at the small issues as closely as the more obvious ones so that you know exactly what you’re getting into.

If your roof repair is covered by an insurance claim, we will meet with your claims adjuster when they do their inspection to make sure nothing is overlooked. In many cases, adjusters have more claims than they can handle, so having an extra set of eyes on your job will ensure they don’t miss anything. Ultimately, we want to ensure you get the money you need to get the job done properly.

Once the inspection is complete, we will sit down with you to explain all the details so that you understand everything that is going to happen and how long it’s going to take to restore your home to its original condition (or better!).

At this time, we will go over all of your options in terms of materials, colors, and styles so that your new roof meets your expectations. Following our meeting, you will know exactly what to expect, including how much time it’s going to take and how much it will cost. We will go over in great detail the applicable product guarantees and warranties.

Martin Exteriors provides you with a full roof replacement guarantee, meaning that all components of your new roof are guaranteed to perform as expected or we will replace them at no cost to you.

We treat our job sites as if it were our own homes – meaning that we will do our level best to get the job done quickly and not to disrupt your day-to-day life too much. There will be some noise, but our site protection and clean-up are second to none. We will cover all outdoor furniture, pools, lawns, landscaping, structures, and walkways so that dust and debris do not become a nuisance. Once we are done with the project, you will never know we were there at all.

When we replace your roof, it means that we replace everything – every shingle, flashing, and other damaged components will be gone. All debris will be disposed of or recycled off-site so you won’t have to think twice about it.

Once we have removed all of your old and damaged roof parts, we will fully inspect the roof decking and make any repairs as needed. Once we have completed the decking repair, we will install leak barriers, which consists of a water-tight felt underlayment. Next, new flashings, drip edge, jackboots, and various other components will be installed in preparation for laying the shingles.

Once the decking is complete, we will install your new shingles over top of the leak barriers and roofing felt. You will have many different styles and colors of shingles to choose from so that you can look forward to a brand-new feel and visual appeal.

Once the shingles have been installed, we will need to seal the areas around the flashing, around the vents, pipes and other joints. We will then paint your vent pipes and flashing to match your new shingles for a clean, uniform look.

Once our crew has completed your new roof installation, we will meticulously clean the area, returning your outdoor spaces to the condition we found them in – or better! We remove all construction debris and give the area a once-over with a magnetic broom to ensure all nails and potentially hazardous metals are gone for good.

After cleanup is completed, our crew boss will complete a final inspection to be sure nothing has been overlooked. We are inspecting for overall quality and workmanship, and also to ensure that your expectations have been met or exceeded. Once we vacate, all you’ll notice is that gorgeous new roof. We’ll be sure to leave plenty of business cards, so you can pass them along to your neighbors in case they ask!

If you have any questions or concerns about your new roof, don’t hesitate to call. We are always here for you.
