Lake Geneva Lake Home Remodel with James Hardie and GAF
Our project manager from Martin Exteriors is on site at a family lake home in Lake Geneva for a full exterior remodel. The plan in this video is new James Hardie fiber cement siding, a GAF Timberline HDZ roofing system, and matching trim work such as soffit and fascia. The homeowner wanted a longer lasting siding choice with a higher end lake look, and chose Hardie after comparing options. The clip is the project kickoff: measurements and scope, before the main install days.

What This Lake Home Project Covers
This was a complete exterior remodel on a family lake home. The owners bought the house in 2022 as a place for the whole family, and they were redoing the inside at the same time, so the outside had to live up to the rest of the work.
- Siding: James Hardie fiber cement on the whole house. The owners asked for siding they would not have to keep fixing, with a higher end look from the lake.
- Roof: a GAF Timberline HDZ shingle roof system.
- Trim: new soffit and fascia as part of the same project, so the roof edge and siding finish together.
A lake house gets looked at from the water as much as from the road, so the owners weighed looks as heavily as durability.
